Our mission
At Lurgan Sheep Vet, our mission is to help Scottish sheep farmers build healthier, more productive flocks through dedicated, flock-focused care. As the country’s only sheep-only veterinary practice, we go beyond quick fixes—taking the time to understand the root of flock issues and offering practical, sustainable solutions that improve long-term outcomes for both sheep and farm businesses.
From on-farm visits to advisory work behind the scenes, we’re committed to raising the standard of sheep health, supporting not just farmers, but the wider agricultural community.
Lurgan Sheep Vet is run by Ann Van Eetvelt, an experienced mixed vet with a deep passion and enthusiasm for flock health, welfare, and productivity. Ann’s dedication to improving sheep farming comes from both her veterinary work and her hands-on experience as a farmer. Together with her husband, she runs a hill farm in Perthshire.
Ann will combine her work at Lurgan Sheep vet with a part time PhD at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on sustainable lamb production and factors like co-infection, metabolism and lamb survival—research that will directly enhance her ability to support farmers with the latest insights.
With a unique combination of practical farming experience and veterinary expertise, Ann is committed to helping farmers achieve healthier, more productive flocks through practical, low-input solutions that make a real, lasting difference.

We provide support to veterinary practices dealing with complex sheep health cases. Our services include second opinions, OPA scanning, post-mortem analysis, and consultation for mixed practices lacking sheep expertise.
Strategic Flock Consultancy
We offer data-driven consultancy to help farmers and organizations optimize flock management and achieve sustainable lamb production. Whether it’s performance reviews or long-term planning, we provide tailored strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability.
Education & CPD for Farmers and Vets
