Fertility

Getting more lambs on the ground, with fewer surprises

Fertility is one of the biggest drivers of flock productivity — and one of the easiest things to quietly go wrong. Whether it’s scanning rates not quite hitting target, too many empties, unexpected losses, or just wondering if your tups are still doing the job, it’s worth digging a bit deeper.

We work with flocks to review fertility performance and spot where things might be going adrift. That might mean looking back at scanning percentages and losses between scanning and marking, or thinking through nutrition, trace elements, and ewe condition in the lead-up to tupping.

We also offer semen testing and fertility checks for tups, whether that’s in response to a poor scanning or just as a routine check before the season starts. It’s a straightforward process that can give peace of mind — or spot problems before it’s too late.

We can also vasectomise tups to use as teasers, which can be a great way to tighten up lambing, bring ewes into season earlier, and get more ewes in lamb at the first cycle. It’s a small job that can make a big difference to how lambing goes.

Fertility planning isn’t about over-complicating things — it’s about making sure everything’s in place to give you the best results come scanning time. We're here to help you get there.
